Breakthrough: First Global Approval for a PFAS-Free Coating System
DÖRKEN is deeply engaged with the topic of “PFAS free” and already has several PFAS-free products — both basecoats and topcoats — in its portfolio. For zinc flake coatings, the focus is particularly on replacing industry-standard fluoropolymers (such as PTFE), which are used as lubricants. Now the coating company has achieved a first breakthrough: The combination of basecoat DELTA-PROTEKT® KL 100 and topcoat DELTA-PROTEKT® TC 502 GZ has been approved for the Volkswagen AG specification VW TL 245 Ofl-t647. This marks DÖRKEN’s first-ever global approval of a PFAS-free coating system in the automotive industry.
