Getting Value From Your Data

Data by itself has minimal value – the impactful part of data is what you do with it. Organizations that effectively extract value from their data gain a significant competitive edge, and this can be seen in business, sports, entertainment, media, shopping—all facets of our lives.

Serving as the President of Watershed Data Group, a fractional data and analytics office, I hear comments such as, “We have a bunch of data, but we don’t know what to do with it.” These comments are great to hear because it tells me that those making the comment know there is value in the data, but they are just unsure how to extract it, which is where we can help! We find that the process of Assemble, Understand, Act works best to unleash the value from data.
