Stopping Fastener Corrosion with Surface Treatment

Fluoramics recently completed a study on the effect of HinderRUST S4.0 on interfacial corrosion. The company’s President and Chief Chemical Engineer, Gregg Reick, put together several assemblies consisting of two metal plates drilled and bolted together with a bolt, two washers and a nut. On the test pieces, the insides of the plates and the bolt threads were treated with the HinderRUST S4.0 product. However, the outside of the plate was not treated with the HinderRUST S4.0 product.
