The method comprising the steps of manufacturing 101 the screw body by cold forging process using ferrous alloy, making 102 a hole 301 on the screw head 201 to form a base of the hole and a wall thickness 501 of the screw head 201 for providing an internal drive, forming 103 a layer 602 of hard ferrous alloy in the hole 301 with the screw head 201 wherein the layer 602 having high hardness than the screw body 200, optionally smoothening 104 the layer 602 using a conventional process and machining 105 the layer 602 to obtain the internal drive 601 thereby achieving increase in hardness and wear-resistance of the internal drive 601.

A screw includes a shank, a head and a drill portion joined to opposite ends of the shank, thread convolutions spiraled on the shank, ribs protruding from the shank, a discharging portion formed between any two adjacent ribs and cutting portions formed on the thread convolutions. Each thread convolution has two thread flanks converging at a thread crest and forms respective thread roots by which different vertical distances are defined. One of the thread flanks includes flank sections having different flank angles. Therefore, the thread convolutions are asymmetric. The discharging portion has two inclined surfaces connected to the ribs and an accommodation groove formed therebetween.

The central through bore is defines a bore diameter (Db) and a main portion is adapted to be swaged onto the locking portion. A ratio of the bore diameter (Db) to the shaft diameter (Ds) is above 1.10:1.

Improvements in a hollow wall fastener that uses a cylindrical outer casing with an outer lip to distribute vertical load stress to the wall more efficiently by reducing high-load stress points and centering mass nearer the wall. The fastener uses arms that deploy and install in a reaching and spreading motion that allows the center of tension and load to remain closer to the wall. The housing uses channeled grooves that align the arms with the cylindrical outer casing. The fastener is adjustable prior to installation to set the thickness of the wall for an optimal grip. The arms secure the fastener by direct pressure applied from opposite directions along the z-axis, perpendicular to the interior wall. The arms can be retracted back into the cylindrical outer housing for removal of the fastener from the wall, ceiling or floor.

The barrel flange limits insertion of the binding barrel. The cylindrical body includes an outer surface with a lubricious coating. The bolt includes a head portion, a threaded portion and a shank portion. The bolt is inserted in the joining bore from the working side. The threaded portion engages with the binding barrel. As the bolt becomes fully engaged, the bolt causes radial expansion of the binding barrel and the binding barrel provides an interference fit within the joining bore.

An adjustable torque limiting fastener has a shank extending along an axis from a proximal end to a distal end. The fastener has a head at the proximal end of the shank. A torque limiter is integrated between the head and the shank. The torque limiter is operable to rotatably decouple the head from the shank when a torque applied to the head exceed a maximum torque. The maximum torque is set by a spring plunger integrated to the head for friction engagement with the proximal end of the shank.
