The short answer is it eliminates safety wire. Safety wire has numerous drawbacks — it’s time-consuming to install and
remove, increases the risk of FOD (Foreign Object Debris), requires special tools, and can damage components.

How does REALLOCK improve mission readiness?
REALLOCK installs in a fraction of the time compared to traditional safety wire. Typically, safety wire installations require a supervisor inspection and sign off. With REALLOCK, installation is as simple as using a standard washer, and the correct placement can be visually confirmed by the technician, supervisor, or quality control. Over the life cycle of an aircraft, safety wire is installed and removed countless times — the cumulative cost and labor is significant. REALLOCK dramatically reduces that.
