Probably the first payoff invented, passive turntables have been around forever and by far are the most popular. They are low cost, low maintenance and can handle any size coil. Loading a coil is simple and quick. Know the capacity of the passive turntable, so you don’t overload the unit. They are sized to handle weights from a couple hundred pounds to several thousands of pounds. The diameter of the material is only limited by the operator who has to pull or push the material into the production machine. A good rule of thumb is most operators can handle up to 5/8″ diameter material
