Good vs. Great

Compare Apples to Apples—The capability of modern vision inspection systems has grown exponentially over the years. Back in the day, you had limited hardware to choose from and you were lucky to identify major feature defects. In today’s world, you have a vast spectrum of hardware to choose from, allowing you to inspect virtually anything with sub-pixel accuracy.

The problem with today’s vision options is that it’s hard to know the difference between a good system and a great vision system. We have personally seen overpriced machinery and unrealistic tolerances on systems that we know will never meet the expectations held by the customers.

With that said, here are a few items we put together to give you some basic things to look for when trying to determine the quality and accuracy of any vision system.
