Process simulation systems and developments
The next major release of the DEFORM® system for manufacturing process simulation has recently been launched. The new release introduces many exciting new applications and capabilities in metal forming and simulation technology. New features range from basic workflow and ease-of-use improvements to the introduction of entirely new modeling frameworks. Designers, engineers, analysts and researchers evaluating metal manufacturing processes will each find useful improvements within the release.
Numerous object type and material data features were added including elasto-plastic porous and General Neo-Hookean (Hyperelastic) constitutive models, Barlat (1991) anisotropy and Yoshida-Uemori hardening models. These improvements extend DEFORM capabilities in application such as powder metal forming, sintering, hot isostatic pressing and sheet metal forming.
